Katharina Mosene (she/her) is a political scientist and heads the Agile Formats division at the Leibniz Institute for Media Research │ Hans-Bredow-Institut (HBI). There, she employs innovative methods for knowledge generation, designs participatory event formats, and oversees impact-oriented science communication.
At the Alexander von Humboldt Institute for Internet and Society, she serves as co-project coordinator and research associate for the “Human in the Loop” research project.
As a political scientist, she advocates for the integration of intersectional feminist approaches into the field of internet governance. Her research focuses on identifying entrenched biases in the field of artificial intelligence, as well as on ethical issues surrounding the use of algorithms in business and society. She also researches solutions to combat digital violence, hate speech, and anti-feminism, with the goal of promoting equal opportunities in the digital sphere.
In addition to her freelance work in the areas of internet security, digital education, and critical media literacy, she is a founding member of netzforma* e.V. – Association for Feminist Internet Policy.
