This collection presents 30 critical visions for a non-discriminatory internet governance. The editors Katharina Mosene and Dr. Matthias C. Kettemann want to broaden the debates regarding the design of future network policies with perspectives beyond the mainstream. For example, feminist, queer or migrant aspects of Internet governance will be presented.
The Internet we have does not fulfill the emancipatory promise some have ascribed to it: a medium to change the world. The Internet has changed the world, but it has fundamentally destabilized, or even challenged, key societal power differentials. Internet governance, as broad and multistakeholder-driven as it has become, still is not broad enough, not open enough, not flexible enough to encompass all voices. This collection provides space for some of them.
The collection will be officially presented on 26 November 2019 as a side event at the Internet Governance Forum 2019 in Berlin.
