Although platforms such as Instagram, YouTube, Facebook and the like are not used specifically for searching for or receiving news, young users come into contact with news content by chance and thus feel sufficiently informed &#8211; as far as their needs are concerned &#8211; about current events in Germany and the world. Nevertheless, adolescents and young adults hardly trust news on social media, which also means that &#8220;news&#8221; is associated with journalistic sources.<\/p>\n<p>Wunderlich, L.
