Kettemann<\/a> and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/leibniz-hbi.de\/en\/staff\/martin-fertmann\">Martin Fertmann<\/a> as part of the <a href=\"https:\/\/leibniz-hbi.de\/en\/projects\/global-digital-human-rights-network-gdhrnet\">GDHRNet<\/a>\u00a0Working Paper Series and is available as open access.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssoar.info\/ssoar\/handle\/document\/75124\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Download Working Paper (pdf)<\/a>\n<\/p>\n<h2>Abstract<\/h2>\n<p>This study explores the spread of disinformation relating to the Covid-19 pandemic on the internet, dubbed by some as the pandemic\u2019s accompanying \u201cinfodemic,\u201d and the societal reactions to this development across different countries and platforms. The study\u2019s focus is on the role of states and platforms in combatting online disinformation.<\/p>\n<p>Through synthesizing answers to questions submitted by more than 40 researchers from 20 countries within the GDHR Network, this exploratory study provides a first overview of how states and platforms have dealt with Corona-related disinformation. This can also provide incentives for further rigorous studies of disinformation governance standards and their impact across different socio-cultural environments.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ssoar.info\/ssoar\/handle\/document\/75124\">Kettemann, M.
