\"Cover\"About the book<\/h2>\n

Whether Kant or conservatives, on the Internet, in environmental discourses or in Zanzibar: this book examines how people set norms for themselves, question them and legitimize them. The contributions make it clear that standards still play a central role in all areas of life. Together with values and narratives, they form normative orders that legitimize political authority and the distribution of rights and goods: in criminal law, in the education of children, in the territorial state, in discourses on progress, in the Anthropocene.<\/p>\n
