Hannah Immler has been a junior researcher at the Leibniz Institute for Media Research | Hans-Bredow-Institut since October 2020. Her research focuses on media practices and their role in public spheres and opinion formation.
As part of the Research Institute Social Cohesion (RISC) she is investigating the interplay between media use and social cohesion within the project “Qualitative Panel: Milieu-Specific Practices of Endangering and Safeguarding Social Cohesion”.
She is currently working on her PhD project in which she examines the relationship between news repertoires and attitudes towards society in the context of different social positions.
Hannah Immler studied sociology at the University of Hamburg and the University of Oslo. She worked as a student research assistant at the Leibniz Institute for Media Research | Hans-Bredow-Institut in the research programme ‘Transformation of Public Communication – Journalistic and Intermediary Functions in the Process of Opinion Formation’ with Prof. Dr. Wiebke Loosen.
She has been a member of the Equal Opportunities Team since June 2026, where she promotes an equitable working environment for all members of the Institute.
